December and Shopping don't mix.
I had not even started my Christmas shopping, so I finally went out Saturday. My goal was to start and finish the same day. Have I stated that December and Shopping don't mix! Never go out the weekend before Christmas. It was a mad house. People are swarming, fussing, and just plain rude. I arrived when the store opened, got what I needed than got out of there! I went to 5 stores and then I was done.
Would you like some of my tips for making a December shopping trip less stressful and more successful? Here's What I do:
1. Make a list of what I want to buy each person on my shopping list.
2. List the stores I want to visit
3. Under each store, write the items I want to buy and for who. ( you know so you don't forget anyone)
4. Start at one store and then work you way around.
5. Get up early and get moving!
I was able to get all my shopping done in a few hours and before the rush of late risers! When your shopping in December that is how it is done!
Merry Christmas and
Happy Shopping everybody!

First Day of December
Wow, I can not believe that this is the first day of December. This year has gone by so fast. My life has not been a bed of roses this year. I have struggled with depression, anger and lost. But thru it all I have seen the Hand of God right there beside me. He has never left me. There were times that my family had no money to pay the bills, then all of a sudden, the money was there. He has brought people in our lives to show us the Love and care that he has for his Children. I have met so many new friends, that have encouraged me. I don't know what the next year will bring, but this I do know: The Lord will be there to meet and supply all my needs.... that right there is comforting! I don't have to have the best of everything, but to know that the Lord is there thru every step of my life.....what a thought!
When my struggle with depression was at it's worst, and I was saying to myself: I can't go on like this, something has to change... I cried out to the Lord and He started a work in my spirit.... the joy that comes from knowing that Christ is there is just .... I can't even think of a word to describe it. Oh, what lessons I have learned this last year.
Thank you Lord, for all that you have done for me and my family this last year. You have brought us thru a very hard struggle. We praise you! You are the way maker, the supplier of all my needs.
Until my next post..... give the Lord praise for what He has done for you this past year!

Precious Memories
Something happened this morning that has brought some sorrowful memories back to the surface of my mind. My niece has given birth to a very pre mature baby this morning. He (N) has come into this world weighing a whopping 1lb. 6 oz. Poor baby, he is so small.
This has brought back all those memories of my first child, Kristanna Lynn. You see she was due to arrive into this world June of 1996. But she came January 15, 1996 stillborn. I remember the week leading up to her arrival. I had my monthly doctors visit and was very excited to hear her heartbeat again. That day, I decided to go by myself since everyone else could not go with me, and my hubby could not get off of work. In the exam room, the nurse could not find her heartbeat, which was not uncommon for me, (most of the time the Dr. was the one to find it) The Doctor came in and could not find it either, so they sent me up stairs for an ultrasound. I was so scared. I remember praying the whole time I was there, I kept trying to see the screen, but they kept moving it away from me. I knew in my heart that my little girl was no more. I was sent back to my doctor's office and while waiting in the waiting room, I just cried and cried. I remember the tears just running down my face. The nurse and doctor brought me to his office and told me that my little girl was gone. I remember telling the nurse to call my mother . I knew that she could get ahold of my hubby. I walked down to the lobby of the offices and waited for my hubby and parents. Strange thing, My sister lived 2 blocks from the office, but I could not remember her number for the life of me.
When my husband arrived, he ran to me and I told him and my parents what was told to me. A few days later, I had to go back to the doctors office and was told that they would take the baby a few days later.
That was the hardest time in my life, waiting for something to happen. Having ladies come up to you and ask when the baby is due. What do you tell them? My family and I arrived at the hospital at the appointed time to start the process of having my baby. After a long day, she was born, stillborn. We found out that she had the unbillica chord wrapped around her neck that had cut off blood flow. She was so tiny!
I don't know why, but hearing my sister in law talk about how small and tiny (N) is has just brought all those memories of that day back into my minds. It was one of the hardest things that I had to go though, but It has made us ( my hubby and I) stronger! Funny thing is that I do wonder what she would have been like, would she be like my dd12 or dd8? What color hair would she have? All those things go through my mind, but I will be able to see her one day in Glory!!!
What a happy time...... in that sweet home it will be!!! These memories are precious to me. I am not sad or sorrowful anymore, cause I know that HEAVEN IS JUST IN SITE!!!!!!!!

One Chapter has closed...
Well, one chapter of my life is closed. Today was the last day pastoring our small church here in Texas. It is sad saying goodbye to friends. We came to love everyone of them.
Now, we have to get ready for the next chapter of our lives. We will be moving, so you know what that means... packing, packing, packing! I do not enjoy packing.... that means moving things around, going thru stuff and getting rid of stuff. I guess the old says goes....
Everyone should move every few years.... it helps you declutter.
I don't know how much decluttering I can do! There is just some stuff you just have to have. LOL.... Hopefully my system will work..... one room a day..... If I pack and declutter one room a day then by the time we are to leave everything will be done! I hope I can stay with it all. Well, I will keep everyone posted..... so until next time,
Shelby

What is the Lord trying to tell me....
I have been going over in my head about the need for a book. I am a holiness Christian, who believes in Bible holiness.... now I see a need for more biblical information given to our girls. I have been looking high and low for a book or some sort of study for pre teen to teen girls. I can't find any!
I believe the need is there and the Lord maybe asking me to write it. Praying about it, hopefully I will start on it soon!
