Philippians 4:11 (King James Version)
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I read a devotional this morning about contentment. In this the gentleman talked about Paul, and how he was content with his lot in life. Paul spoke those words in the scripture I posted above. He says that he learned to be content in what ever state he was in. Paul counted it all joy just to be able to witness for Christ. He may not have had much in this life, but he did have Christ.
At times, we may battle with discontentment. We may feel that we want something better for ourselves, that we are not satisfied with our life.
As Christians we have something to look forward to: Heaven. We have something more than just life here on earth.... we have heaven.
Paul won his race! He won the prize! We can to!
When things get us down, and we are discontent with ourselves or our life... We should look up to heaven and be reminded that Heaven is our Goal...
With Jesus, we can be content with what "life" may though our way!
Keep on working for the prize: Heaven!
